At Ireby, we are dedicated to creating a loving community for all, where all are celebrated as unique individuals and where passions and talents can flourish.
Our computing provision supports our children's academic, social and spiritual development through studying a rich computing curriculum which enables all to flourish.
Computing units are carefully selected so that we develop our children’s understanding of technology and learn how it can be used responsibly to enhance our world.
We aim to instil a sense of enjoyment around the use of technology and to develop pupil’s appreciation of its capabilities and the opportunities technology offers to create, manage, organise and collaborate.
‘Tinkering’ with software and programs forms part of the ethos of how we learn as we want to develop pupil’s confidence when encountering new technology, a vital skill in the ever evolving and changing landscape of technology. Children learn resilence, as often they encounter skills and knowledge which requires debugging and patience to master.
Through our curriculum, we intend for pupils not only to be digitally competent and have a range of transferrable skills at a suitable level for the future workplace, but also to learn how it can be used responsibly to enhance our world.
