Ireby Church of England is a special place. Every photograph on our website, both in the foreground and the background, has been taken and edited by our children, using school cameras and with the support of local photographers, as part of their curriculum.

Established in the 1700's,  the school moved to the present building in December 1881; the finance for which was put together by contributions from within the village and the surrounding district and, to this day, remains at the heart of our community, serving generations of families.

We place our Christian vision, 'Created to do Good' (Ephesians 2:10), at the heart of all our work and underpin it with traditional Christian values of friendship, hope, compassion, wisdom and service. In all our learning and play, we draw children back to our vision as we look to support them on their journey to becoming citizens who understand their purpose and can contribute to our society.

Our staff are wonderful. They are dedicated to our vision and care deeply about our children, each other and our community. They can be found at the start and end of every day, greeting children and speaking to parents.

Our curriculum is exciting and ambitious. We love to learn about our world. We live in one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of England and we bring this in to our curriculum at every opportunity. When we study rivers, we walk the rivers, we use our minibus to travel the county and beyond - immersing ourselves in our locality and bringing our curriculum to life.

Links with our community are strong and we receive wonderful support. Our school holds a special place in the hearts of Ireby residents who demonstrate it on a regular basis.

We have a strong Parent and Teacher Association that run regular events throughout the year; linking with the local community. Annual events include the Christmas Fayre, sponsored walks, Duck Race and Egg Dump! Follow our school on Twitter to see regular updates of what is happening (@IrebyCESchool).

If you would like to find out more about our school we would be delighted to invite you here and show you around. Contact us by phone (016973 71367) or email (office@ireby.cumbria.sch.uk).

Kindest Regards

Michael John and the team at Ireby Church of England School.
