Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Ireby we believe that every child is unique and every child is special. Our whole curriculum is designed to support their academic, social and emotional development. Sometimes, children need additional support to allow them to thrive.
At Ireby, we work with Mr Graham Wigginton to support our SEND needs. Mr Wigginton is a highly experienced SENCO working across a number of schools in Cumbria and we are delighted to have have his services. If you wish to contact Graham, please email office@ireby.cumbria.sch.uk.
OFSTED March 2024:
Staff are alert to any additional needs that a pupil might have. They keep a careful check on pupils’ progress, which helps them to identify any pupils with SEND. Staff adapt teaching seamlessly to make sure that pupils with SEND can access the same curriculum as their peers. These pupils play a full part in school life and are supported to achieve well.
